Discuss: why does no one think that Aaron also has eidetic memory?

“Photographic memory may be so rare that it appears to be fictional because it is the result of an uncommon genetic mutation or an unlikely combination of environmental and genetic factors.”

One could argue that the environmental factor would be Andrew’s abuse, though Aaron was abused (differently but) quite heavily as well.

One could argue that Aaron was failing high school. Counterpoint: He was on mixtures of drugs. Counterpoint: Andrew has his perfect recall on drugs. Counterpoint: Different drugs affect the brain differently, and we don’t know what all Aaron was taking.

The boy has plans for med school, even after his shitty high school grades. He has the apathy that allows a good surgeon to disconnect and work efficiently, and even if he probably started out dreaming of a job that makes the kind of money to get him away from his upbringing, I believe he wants this career in part so he can prevent more people from ending up like he did? Beaten and bruised and broken bones and a drug habit? Anyway it’s a very lofty and grueling goal. He has to feel like this is achievable to keep at it with such determination. Eidetic memory would certainly lend to that confidence.

But he studies a lot? Although if he is eidetic, he could just be using studying as an excuse to hang out with Katelyn every possible chance he can manage.

idk guys I just never understood why the collective fandom believes a most likely genetic trait only manifests in one twin. Did I miss something canon?

You know I thought he’d forgotten something in the books but in hindsight it may have just been Andrew accusing him of forgetting their deal. Huh I’ll have to check.

oh andrew just says ‘fuck you for thinking otherwise’ when talking about their deal. so in retrospective aaron didn’t forget anything

thank you! That would have bothered me until I found it and I don’t even a little bit have the time to descend into that rabbit hole rn.

This makes so much sense because in the books it discussed that they’re identical and while dizygotic twins can be very similar looking (almost to the point of identically) I believe that Nora was talking about monozygotic twins and if they are indeed monozygotic then that means that they are genetically identical which would mean that if an eidetic memory is a mutation THEY WOULD BOTH HAVE IT WHICH IS SO COOL!

This also explains why Andrew was so suspicious of Aaron “studying” all the time because if Aaron DOES have an eidetic memory then he wouldn’t really have to!!

Lol Andrew being suspicious and Aaron’s excuses getting dumber over time like “there’s a lot of course material it takes a lot of time to look at it all!” to “I can’t concentrate on it when I’m around the team I have to absorb it in the library!” to “I know I’ve been reading this one for two months now, I like to ~savor~ my textbooks okay?”

Also, just… Aaron having continual nightmares about Drake because he can subconsciously recall the scene he and Neil walked in on in perfect detail and it haunts him ;n;

But also also, Andrew forcing Aaron to actually TALK to Bee about it since Aaron insists on crashing his Wednesday sessions, trading Aaron’s honest admissions of pain for his own participation in talking about their joint issues :’)

  7. oh-crap-im-attatched said: @tell-me-your-vision he forgot where the keys were when Neil first meets the monsters. Aaron reaches into the wrong pocket for the keys to the door, which draws attention to the fact that he does t have cigarettes, leading to Neil figuring out that Andrew was the one driving. I still love the idea of him having an eidetic memory or a near identical memory though!!
